Museum
The mill in Lindesnäs was during its heyday one of the largest in the country and there were many people living in the area who worked in one way or another at the mill. Much of what was there is preserved in the old grain storehouse.
Back in time
Please visit this small museum, which tells an interesting story about iron handling and casting of many different industrial details. A museum prepared by Henry Mattsson and Hilkka Alm, who did a fantastic job with this. The mill was in operation from 1793 to 1895 and was the beginning of Domnarvet – later SSAB.
The mill in Lindesnäs was during its heyday one of the largest in the country and there were many people living in the area who worked in the mill in one way or another. Much has been preserved from this time and at the museum you can see and experience the history of the mill. The premises are divided into different environments: Workers' homes, the forest, general store, pharmacy, shoemaking, forestry office, fishing, technology, school, carpentry workshop and casting models.
Voluntary donations to support the activities are given at the entrance.
Open on 11–12 July from 1 to 5 PM. After that, open on Sundays until mid-August.
Visits at other times can be arranged by appointment.
