About Lindesnäs
Lindesnäs is a village and former ironworks in Nås parish in present-day Vansbro municipality in Dalarna , Sweden , located along the road between Nås and Fredriksberg, deep in the forests of Bergslagen. Today it is a sleepy little village, but during the 19th century, Lindesnäs ironworks was one of the ten largest ironworks in the country.
The current village has around 55 permanent residents and that number triples in the summer, when holidaymakers come to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
There are two active associations that keep the village alive.
Lindesnäs Local History Association (museum, ruins and nature trail)
IF Frisk (camping and slalom)
The manor is famous throughout Dalarna and offers not only delicious ice cream in the summer, but also an extensive menu of food and drinks.
